Mieke is a qualified acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council. She initially trained in dance and has taught extensively in a wide range of community settings including day care centers, a hospital setting and many schools. Through her practice of Yoga and Tai chi she developed an interest in oriental concepts of health and medicine. Following 4 years of study Mieke graduated with a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture from the University of Westminster. In addition to her private practice Mieke works at the NHS funded Gateway clinic in Lambeth treating patients with musculo-skeletal and chronic pain-related conditions. Mieke is committed to ongoing studies to further develop her knowledge and clinical skills. Recent courses include auricular acupuncture, the treatment of stroke, understanding channel palpation and IVF support.
